Step/treads, railings and risers are not included with our stringers. Customers make or get those locally to their taste and budget. All pictures on our website were sent by customers having gone through this process. Fast-Stairs^® specialises in providing what is the hardest part in building stairs (the frame) and what can’t be found elsewhere: modular adjustable steel stair stringers.There are two simple methods for attaching railings (not included) to your stairs:

1. with railing posts fastened from inside the perforated steel stringers and railing boards fastened to posts above stringers (easiest method)
2. with railing posts and system attached to the top of the treads

In coastal areas or anywhere rust is a threat, we strongly recommend that you give the assembled stringers an extra coat of Rust-O-Leum, Tremclad brush or spray rust-proofing paint products. It will give you the opportunity to change the color of the stringers and add years of worry-free, no-maintenance ownership.You can add lighting to your finished stairs by running thin LED light strips inside the C-channeled stringers.

Where needed, the use of intermediate outside support posts and/or fastening full-sized risers between treads will add rigidity to your finished stairs.
